Numeracy reflection T4W6

For numeracy this week we did top 14 worst tornadoes and you had to plot them on to the world map exactly where they where. example so say there is one in east Pakistan then you have to plot it in east Pakistan with facts and a image of the tornado. Here is my one I found it fun because I like knowing new facts about the world and these are good facts about the world.

Numeracy Reflection T4W3

For or numeracy this week we had to carry on with or position and orientation slide and I did shapes which you had to use coordinates to make the shapes there where 7 shapes we had to do the biggest line of coordinates it was the 5 shapes but it was a moon. Here it is.

Week 7 Reflection

Writing

For writing we had to show not tell and I found this quite hard because I couldn't think of what to do and I learnt how to show not tell.

Numarecy

For numeracy I had to do a screen Castify with one of the decimal match up games. I found this hard but not that hard.

Word work

For word work I had to do sentences with my words in it. I found this easy.

Reading

For reading this week I had to change words into different words. I found this hard.

Week 5 reflection t2

Numeracy- This week we learnt how to add decimals and I found it quite hard to do because it was my first time adding decimals.

Writing-

Barnyard Times

Volume I: Issue VII News from the Zuckerman's Farm

                         The ratty Article

Yesterday just one ordinary winter’s day just out of greymouth was a barn.

Templeton is a rat not an ordinary rat a really sneaky rat and he helped charlotte write some
pig in her
web. The rat was just like another rat just a bit smarter the rat got the words from the dump.

A rat that had so much food in its house that he couldn't fit anything else but himself it was that full. A sneaky little rat that could get anywhere without being spotted.

A little hole under a barrel that had all of templeton's food
and stash of junk like rotten eggs and cans. That little rat had heaps of tunnels that lead to a lot of exits and entries.

Because he was a rat with a lot of talent that could practically do anything because he is very smart. He could do stuff like sneaking around to steal food or stuff like that.

Reported By Alex Cl

Word work-For word work I did silly sentences.

Writing-This was our follow up we had to complete trapped you had to figure out witch punctuation goes were.

Reading- This week for reading we did perfect punctuation.

Appearance
Some spiders like the red back has a red back and other spiders can be all colors like the jumping spider. The tarantula has 8 really hairy legs. All spiders have 6 eyes.Tarantula has big fangs that digs into it's prey. Big webs some spiders have humongous webs

Food
Spiders have heaps of food ,house fly , centipedes i'm not going to name them all because they can nealy eat every insect. The spider doesn't eat there prey the suck the blood out of them. Centipedes have the advantage because they are ground insects so if spiders want to catch them they have to go to the ground.

predators/prey
Mice and rats are predators to spiders they can eat spiders.prey to spiders is flies and stuff they eat.People are predators to spiders because they spray them with black flag and that kills them.
Spray is the worst to spiders because it kills them just like mice/rats.

Life Cycle
The first stage is eggs when the eggs hatch they turn into baby spiders. The when the baby spiders grow big they are adults. Then when the adults lay the eggs the adult stay until they hatch then the adult leaves.

I've learnt a lot about spiders there appearance, life cycle and food.
It looked like it was easy but it wasn't it was quite hard.

Topic:

I've learnt a lot about the war how the periscope was useful.
It was quite easy making it on drawing.

Week 9 Reflections

I learnt not to pollute in new Zealand water.

I learnt how to add decimals and minus decimals.
And I also learnt that you always start with the biggest number then go to the littlest.
I really thought this was really hard.
next i want to learn how x decimals.

Reflections Week 8

I have learnt how to make a water cycle using google drawings.
I thought that this was a bit easy  but not a lot.
I learnt that precipitation is when it rains and that ground flow is when the water goes under ground and it seeps out into a lake.

This week Iv'e learnt that a tornado is the most dangerous place when the tornado is in a ditch and that earthquake are most dangerous in a city because bits of building can fall on you and swash you.

Exercise 5
What to do
Use the information given to you to derive the answer to a similar problem.

  1. If 4 × 200 = 800 what is 4 × 201 ?  804
  2. If 7 × 300 = 2100 what is 7 × 301 ?  2107
  3. If 8 × 400 = 3200 what is 8 × 402 ?  3216
  4. If 9 × 500 = 4500 what is 9 × 501 ?  4509
  5. If 5 × 600 = 3000 what is 5 × 602?  3010
  6. If 3 × 700 = 2100 what is 3 × 704 ?  2112
  7. If 2 × 800 = 1600 what is 2 × 803 ?  1606
8) If 6 × 900 = 5400 what is 6 × 903 ?  5418

Exercise 6
What to do
Use the information given to you to derive the answer to a similar problem.

  1. If 4 × 200 = 800 what is 4 × 199 ?  796
  2. If 7 × 300 = 2100 what is 7 × 299 ?  2093
  3. If 8 × 400 = 3200 what is 8 × 398 ?  3184
  4. If 9 × 500 = 4500 what is 9 × 498 ?  4482
  5. If 5 × 600 = 3000 what is 5 × 597 ?  2985
  6. If 3 × 700 = 2100 what is 3 × 698 ?  2094
  7. If 2 × 800 = 1600 what is 2 x 797 ?  1594
  8. If 6 × 900 = 5400 what is 6 × 897 ?  5382

Exercise 7
What to do
Use the information given to you to derive the answer to a similar problem.

  1. If 2 × 25 = 50 what is 2 × 24 ?  43
  2. If 4 × 25 = 100 what is 4 × 27 ?  108
  3. If 3 × 15 = 45 what is 3 × 14 ?  42
  4. If 4 × 15 = 60 what is 4 × 17 ?  68
  5. If 6 × 15 = 90 what is 6 × 14 ?  84
  6. If 2 × 25 = 50 what is 2 × 26 ?  52
  7. If 4 × 25 = 100 what is 4 × 24 ?  96
  8. If 3 × 15 = 45 what is 3 × 16 ?  48
  9. If 4 × 15 = 60 what is 4 × 13 ?  52
  10. If 6 × 15 = 90 what is 6 × 17 ?  102

Exercise 8
What to do
Use the strategy add a little/subtract a little to solve these problems.

Julie wanted to find 3 × 28.

She knows that 28 is near 30, so she used 3 × 30 = 90 and subtracted 3 × 2 = 6 to get the answer.

Julie recorded this in her maths book

3 × 28 = 90 – 6 = 84

Using Julie’s method find the answer to the following problems.  Record your working like Julie did.

1) 4 × 19 =76 (2) 3 × 41=123                  (3) 5 × 59=295
4) 7 × 52 =364     (5) 4 × 73=292 (6) 3 × 37= 111
7) 6 × 102=612      (8) 5 × 301=1505 (9) 4 × 698=2792
10) 3 × 499=1497 (11) 7 × 602=4214 (12) 9 x 3999=35,991

I thought that this week it was a really challenging because you have to figure out 6 × 900 = 5400 what is 6 × 897 ? without cheating
It was really challenging
