Camp reflection

At the start of week 4 for 3 days my class went on camp to Hanmer Springs. It was a fun camp, really action packed and tiring. The things we did there was mountain biking, tree climbing, Orienteering,  walked Conical hill and cemetery study. The funniest was tree climbing I made it to the top of both the trees.                                                                   

Hockey

Last term Grey Main put forward 2 teams for hockey. The teams were good. One of the teams came 1st and my team came 3rd. They were really close games. Grey Main got the trophy last year, tied with Karoro. This year Grey Main got the trophy and won by 3-0. I got a MVP reward for my team and the other person that got MVP in the other Grey Main team was Franklin. My team drew for 3rd place with St Mary's 1-1.

Week reflection T2W1

This week for math my class have been working on circumference of a circle. We have also been working on area and perimeter of different shapes, also we have math maintenance which we did in our math book last term but this term it is online. Here is my work book about Area, Perimeter and circumference of a circle.

League

Next week on Tuesday a league team from Grey Main School is going to Christchurch for a league tournament.  Last year our team came 2nd in the B division and only lost by 2 points. This year hopefully we could win it is going to be a lot of fun.

This term Grey Main School have a lot on like Cross country, Rugby, league, basketball and camp at Hanmer springs it will be a fun camp because my class do mountain biking, orienteering, tree climbing and swimming at the pools. For league or school has a team going to Christchurch for a tournament against a heap of teams.                                                      

Week reflection T1W10

This week for math's my class have been working on finding a percentage of an amount and percentages to fractions. I am going to be teaching you how to find a percentage of an amount here is a DLO (digital learning object) about finding a percentage of an amount.                                

Specail Visitor

This week on Wednesday my class had a special visitor. Her name is Thelma Eakin. Thelma is a book author, she wrote the book called The Mines afire. It is a book about the Brunner Mine site. Thelma Eakin came in to answer some of our questions about the book. Thelma also showed us a lamp called a safety lamp that they used in the mine but sometimes they used a open flame. One interesting thing that she told us is that the teacher used to lock the door of the classroom to go fishing.
